This is hot, and awesome, and inspired by wine, so basically it is perfect.

Also, though, it seems very real that Ben (or both of them, really) would be so scared of how much they love each other. I really think this line sums it up perfectly: “Sometimes I feel like we’re moving too fast, you know? And then other times I feel like we’re not moving fast enough.”

When I think about the actual amount of time that they've been dating, it hasn't really been a long time, you know? But, let's face it, they've been in a relationship for a lot longer than they've been dating. So, it's true. It feels like they've been together forever, yet also, like they've just started. (Maybe Leslie should write that manual...)

Yeah, most of everything I write is inspired by booze. So there's that. Fun fact about this girl right here...

They really HAVEN'T been dating that long and it feels like EONS. (But omg if they get married, it'll get soooo boring.) And Leslie SHOULD write that manual. I'd read and follow it. For sure, no questions asked.

And if she’s being honest, and totally real, she loves seeing his head against her sheets when she awakes at night, loves that he irons his stupid plaid shirts in her living room while she makes dinner, that he backs his car into her driveway instead of pulling in forward. Bottom line, she loves him, really and truly, to the point that it nearly makes her disintegrate and jesus, shouldn’t that be enough?

I don't know what it is about this paragraph but I love it. I love the detail and how I can totally see Ben doing all these things, and how it just makes total sense to Leslie and UGH EMOTIONS.

Okay, I have to apologize to you too because I took forever to get back to these and that makes me a douche. I apologize.

YOU ARE TOO SUPER NICE. UGH. THANK YOU. I like thinking that there's some signature part of ME in my writing. Why I try to explore the darker side because... relationships aren't all fun and flowers and happy, happy hugs and puppies. And we really don't get MUCH of the flip side of Ben and Leslie on the show.

Writing them fighting makes them more REAL for me, I suppose.

I've actually been really craving fic like this, something that explores this weird place they're in, where they've declared feelings and taken huge risks for each other, when in reality they haven't spent much time as a couple. Too fast and not fast enough--exactly. So this hit the spot! And I love the little line in which Leslie thinks maybe he doesn't like houses. That sounded very Leslie to me.
