I believe (if you check our corespondence carefully) that I have NEVER mocked Herbie Hancock. I believe (if YOU check) that I mocked YOUR love of Herbie Hancock.

You been served.

Some of HH's stuff is pretty commercial and boring, not even good as far as commercial poppish stuff goes.

The Maiden Voyage is a great album, one of the best jazz albums ever.

Especially, Freddie Hubbard (tr) is fabulous.

Some of the best work by Freddie is with other leaders:

"Speak No Evil" (with Sorter, Hanckock, Ron Carter, Tonny Williams, essentiall ythe same band as the Maiden Voyage)
"Mayden Voyage"
"Free Jazz" (with Ornette)
"Out to Lunch" (with Eric Dolphy, Tonny Williams, Ron Carter, and Bobby Hutcherson) <- this is on my list of 12 best albums ever, and can even make the top 3; it may be the best album on the outside.

I'm typing this off the top of my head so I might have made some mistakes about personel.
