THE COMMENTING ON FIC THING. I SO HEAR YOU. And, like, it's really nice to get kudos and things but I, too, am guilty of reading a fic and not really loving it but thinking wow, what a lot of work. And so, instead of talking about the bits I did like, I just close the tab and go on my merry way. And I think that a lot of people don't even bother to kudos even when they DO like things. I miss the way that a great comment starts up a dialogue between you and the writer. I just miss the way that LJ led to interactions with people in a way that never seems to happen on tumblr. And I don't know if that's the way that I USE tumblr or what, cause there are plenty of people who DO seem to have a dialogue, but I don't know, IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF WORK.
I like your TVD better than the actual TVD. Please carry on.
LISTEN I MISS FIC ON LJ SO MUCH! AO3 is gold as backup, but interactions there are still few and far between. Funny thing is, I still do post fic on lj. Most of what I write gets posted on lj. Except no one ever looks there anymore, and I have no clue why I bother.
* lol sis I just realized that your fic journal - as a comm - is not on my "friends list" filter and I keep forgetting to add it to my "reading list" filter while on the other hand ao3 sends me a direct email when you post something, so I always *know* when you've written something new like immediately.
but I also know that I missed a few things on lj because I'm terrible at paying attention to comm-postings.
so maybe that's a thing for other people and not just my loser face :)
Awww it's okay <3333. I'm not butthurt about it or anything. I like reading on AO3 myself, simply because the layout is very eye-friendly there (and also the download mobi option). I'm just wondering if a fic journal is still a thing worth having/updating.
I applaud both your TVD rewrite (though I'd change a lot more than even that, lol) and FDTD fic bunnies. I'll be waiting patiently for the vampire!Fuller AU (mainly because vampire!Kate = omg).

I feel weird because I’m apparently one of five people in fandom who has zero problem with kudoses taking over comments. It makes no difference to me if someone gives kudos or comments on my fic? (As in, both are equally good to me.) BUT I'M KNOWN TO BE AN ASOCIAL HERMIT SO.
BUT WHAT WHAT? PEOPLE DON'T POST FANMIXES ON LJ ANYMORE? NONSENSE TO THAT. POST AWAY, MY FRIEND, POST AWAY.
I also miss thriving LJ comms? And knowing where your fandom is and where the center or hub for it?
YES! When I got into From Dusk Till Dawn I had a browse through the tags on tumblr and found lots of gifs to reblog from various scenes, but I miss the days when you could immediately do a search for an active comm, and then voila there would be people actually discussing the show and writing meta. Everything seems to be graphic-focused these days, there's no real way of connecting with people to talk about the show with on tumblr :(

YES! When I got into From Dusk Till Dawn I had a browse through the tags on tumblr and found lots of gifs to reblog from various scenes, but I miss the days when you could immediately do a search for an active comm, and then voila there would be people actually discussing the show and writing meta. Everything seems to be graphic-focused these days, there's no real way of connecting with people to talk about the show with on tumblr :(
