It is a sort of technology. The waves do not actually put people inside of the television. They are filmed, using a camera to capture their images, and the data from that is sent to the television.
I haven't seen a TV. Not like there's any TV antenna around, or even a satellite dish, but considering how many people are around you'd think one ended up here somehow.
It's kind of complicated...dude, I know. There's this guy. His name's Souji Seta. Ask him what a satellite dish is. Man, back in school, I got my answers off of him all the time.
