Hmm.

[Actually, she was biting her tongue about this since yesterday. And finally, she's deemed it about time to speak up. Suddenly, Lady is feeling out of place and a little insecure.]Yeah, yeah, so I should come, for the sake of it, I know. But there better not be a stiff dress code, if you catch my drift. Bad enough it's getting warmer here and ( Read more... )

[A forced laugh; again, the only reason she is doing this is that she tells herself she's trying to be... nice.]

... No. There is such thing as "tomboys".

It means some girls chose to wear boy clothes.

Yeah, hate to break it to you, but it's my choice.

If I would, I'd show up in jeans and a t-shirt. Dunno if I can do that.

[EXASPERATED]

[ this is the sound of him rummaging for his invite... ]

Well, it just says "party," right? Nothing about having to plan a Ballspende or whatever. It's prolly one of the things where you're actually allowed to eat the food there. Jeans would work.

[ SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE? Maybe. Possibly. Probably. Yes. Okay, seriously, he had to coach Germany on this sort of thing when he was a babby, so it's A VERY SKETCHY SORT OF COACHING and probably part of the reason Germany is so awkward...

you might want to wear something nicer than a t-shirt though... ]

[You can practically hearing her shoulders tensing up as she gets embarrassed from this.]

Well... I don't know! I've never been to one before, that's why I asked.

"Dress code"? Where?

I wouldn't worry about the Natives and their opinions. Sometimes less is more, so long as you're not parading about like a harlot.

[And to hell being nice when you reply.]

Oh. It's you.

I like walking around this damn city without getting grief, thank you very much. And who cares if someone's parading around like a "harlot"; people will have different definitions, now won't they?

Yes. It's me. You ought to be out solving crimes with a mind that sharp.

{Cue audible eyeroll.}

And you should be able to. I'm merely saying that what the Natives think about your attire shouldn't affect you so. Who cares what they think?

You might care, depending on whether you wish to be seen as a Lady or a whore. If you care about receiving grief from others, which you've admitted to, it may be something to keep in mind.

Isn't this just precious.

And yet it does when you're female. God forbid if a woman wants to move around comfortably, lest she be deemed showing off too much.

I'd bet you would be the type to see a woman as promiscuous if she was wearing something above the knee. So you know what? Spare me. I'm tired of that Eve sinning bullshit.

Natives often look down upon anything foreign. Complaining doesn't do anything for you.

Obviously. And it's not as if I can't retaliate, either. Am I not allowed to air an opinion?

Or you could merely rebel and not think of what others might do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't rebellion take more than one person? A largely disgruntled populace that isn't so placated or apathetic to their surroundings?
