Oh...it's you.

[Private]

Hey, are you still good on ammo?

This, I can't argue.

[Private]

I am "good", but I wouldn't be opposed to spare.

And I wouldn't be opposed to selling it to you!

Do you still have your gun? The Walther PPK, right? [He had good taste in guns. She remembers that too.]

[As far as his fairly dull can convey, he releases an amused hum.]

Miss Elena is a very active businesswoman. [Deliberate pause.] Yes. I wouldn't be so careless.

Ah, and while we're speaking, might you also be selling non-lethal weapons?

[Why, she sounds almost reluctant.]

I would be interested. I am unwilling to leave my current residence at the moment, so you would have to come to me.

I understand. If it would be more favorable, it is an option that the exchange be done through the Forge. Any degree of privacy you seek is understandable.

[His tone is solely professional, avoiding many of the usual lilts that tend to create a rift between others and himself.]

I do ask for a name or pseudonym, however, to assign the current contact for future reference.

That is...

[Hm. These devices had proved secure regarding Lupin's brief imprisonment, though she suspected she was not entirely believed, none of her goading - none of what precipitated his threat to her - had been seen. That had been a point in their favor, even if they were not entirely wizard made.]

...acceptable. You may call me Bellatrix.

[She sounds as if she's granting him a favor. She really thinks she is.]

Thank you, Miss Bellatrix.

[And he does notice the reluctance, which may have given him incentive to play up the polite role.]

Which times would be convenient for you over the course of the next week?

I would be willing. I doubt I have anything to hide. That you would be interested in, anyway.

It will not be anymore invasive than you wish, I guarantee. Would you prefer that the exchange be done over Forge or in-person?

[He does prefer the former, himself, primarily due to paranoia, but it occasionally causes unnecessary unease, distrust, merely due to detachedness nature of his preferences.]

You sound like some scientists I used to know. Either is acceptable for me. I value my privacy but I doubt anyone else would be so interested as to demand access to my interview.

[An agreeable hum.]

That is a safe assumption, yes. What should I refer to you as?

[A number has already been assigned, of course, and the man's name is likely among the networks posts he has been neglecting in favor of work, but the usage would primarily for ease of interaction's sake.]

Ah, and what times would be most convenient that I contact you?

I wouldn't mind giving what information I could. Especially if could allow for better understanding of this place and how it operates.

Thank you. It's certainly appreciated.

May I have a name and preferred contact hours for your convenience?

Dr. Spencer Reid.

As for time, I tend to keep rather odd hours, it's a by product of my chosen profession back home. When the call about a new case can come at any moment, you find yourself becoming accustomed to sleeping when and where you can. So, yes, any time would be fine by me.

[He makes a mental note absently and offers a hum of understanding.]

I do understand.

If it would be preferable that Dr. Reid, instead, initiates contact some time within the next week, this is very doable. I am free from many responsibilities at this time, so there's little need to work around my schedule.

I am conducting similar research into the mist and have been for months. If you can recall your previous experiences here, you will remember. We spoke on the subject.

As before, I am willing to share what I learn with you on the condition that it will be an equal exchange. Your knowledge for mine.

I recall, Miss Deneve.

And I do, still, welcome this understanding. Are there any particulars of the mist that your research is focused?

My concentration has been into the mist's apparent properties, though this has required more exclusionary work than conclusive; the consistency of the effects - particularly the length of said effects; and the consistency the of the mist-levels' relative distance from the city limits.

I confess, my research has been limited to the third or, occasionally, fourth level and under. The effects are surprisingly powerful.

[As a result of his refusal to permit the possibility of true harm befalling his person, he doesn't mention. There would certainly be further progress were he not so short-staffed.]

I've spent most of my time observing physiological effects of the different levels. I have made note of an array of psychological effects as well, but it is harder to observe those objectively as they happen to me.

I have been in all level, as far as I could go without the mist killing me, and have thoroughly covered all the ground in the ruins over many excursions so I could most likely provide you with some information on the consistency of effects. It does seem, however, that the exact effects and their severity can range from one encounter to the next even if the subject is in the exact same area from one experience to the next.

I understand.

Objectivity does become an issue at some point. I have kept track of a similar log, though it's fairly limited to the earlier levels. A comparison would perhaps be useful, given that the differences are not significant - which I am under the belief would be the case.

I have conducted experiment s specifically designed to test the increased or decreased vulnerability of a subject exposed to the mist repeatedly over the course of a relatively short period. Mm... of course, this is irrelevant to any curiosity regarding the long-term effects.

I see. [Insert curious hum. And then -- ] I've noticed the same in lower levels. This suggests that -perhaps- the mist's thickness varies from precise time to time.

Would Miss Deneve be opposed to sharing findings and any alterations to previous discoveries at the end of each month?
