A quick video trailer I made last night for Once Upon a Time....because revenge plots make me happy. Probably explains why I watch Revenge. Spoilers for 2x04.
I admit Hook hasn't won me over yet. Though neither have Aurora or Mulan. I liked Lancelot though (which is pretty much a first as I tend to dislike that character in gen). For the first three, I'm hoping seeing more of the characters will change my lack of feelings.
Given the fact that I started watching this show again BECAUSE of Hook, it would have probably taken a lot for me to dislike him. I'm shallow, I freely admit that, but I also have a weakness for pirate-y antiheroes/villains. I don't know how his character will turn out, but I like the angle they took with him...and as I've mentioned, I'm a fan of revenge stories (especially when it involves dead loved ones).
I'm not entirely sold on Aurora or Mulan either, but we've spent very little time with them and most of it involved Phillip or random acts of violence. I *want* to like them both, so I'm hoping the show will provide me reasons to.
Have to admit though, I didn't care much for Hook at the start, but as we reached nearer the end of the episode and then we got the reveal about Wonderland and the revenge he and Cora are after I just thought 'shit, THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD'. I can't wait to see how this revenge plot plays out.
Dammit though, I didn't want to like him! But I do, and I felt sorry for him when he lost Milha :( (I ship them, apparently) Just... damn this show and their wonderful twists and their linking of everything together.
Aw, thank you (I'm noticing a lot of Rumple love in my f-list icons :P).
I actually really liked him from the start - mostly because he was the antithesis of the other villains. I like that they either wrote it or he played it very low-key, as opposed to very grand and theatrical. We already have two divas on the show, we don't need a third, lol. The character could have easily been swallowed up by bravado, but the actor kept him pretty grounded (especially when human!Rumple comes to see him aboard his ship).
Right? I *really* want to see them flash back to those years when they were together, to really flesh out that relationship. I want to see why the loss of it consumed Hook so completely.
