Finally!
I HAVE A PASSPORT!!
Not only can I travel to Colombia to pick up my daughter, I can also go to more Bruins Quest games in Canada! (Years ago when my brother and I went to the game in Vancouver, you only needed a birth certificate to cross the border.)
It's such a great feeling to get things done, you'd think I'd do it more often. -
Paula Andréa is in Bogotá!
I was told today that the referral might not come until Monday for some reason, but this morning I received an email from a woman at the orphanage saying they had moved Paula Andréa from her foster home in Medellin to FANA, the orphanage in Bogotá where we will finally be reunited!! I went here first thing this morning (made the appointment yesterday) with a passport application and all of the necessary documents and I will have my passport by Friday. For only $60 above the regular fee. That is amazing! I made sure to ask if I could get my passport number sooner than that and they said I could call on Thursday for sure and ( Read more... ) -
Oh my goodness!!
The volunteer helping me with my paperwork contacted me today and said "If you can get your passport number to FANA [the orphanage] today, you can have your referral tomorrow!" The referral is the Big Thing! That's the orphanage and the child welfare system of Colombia saying "We approve your application and would like to extend to you an official ( Read more... ) -
Yvonne's a Mom!
After being there approx five weeks, Yvonne came back from Colombia tonight with *her* kids! (These were some of the kids who came up with Paula last November.) I am loving these arrivals.
