CHARACTERS: Anyone. DATE: ( September 4th (day 9) ) RATING: PG-13~R for gore. SUMMARY: Daylight breaks and the fog rolls back out to sea, revealing what the strange noises caused.
Abby smelled it before she saw it. The stench of death was something she was well familiar with. But that didn't make it any easier when she saw the bodies. In fact, she took a step back as she realized what who she was looking at.
It was the unfriendly man whose feed she had hacked breaking into a building on the island. He hadn't even been outside. He'd been murdered inside the dorms, one of the few places she felt semi-safe. If this was a game, someone was seriously ill. It was becoming a battle to keep from throwing up but Abby couldn't bring herself to leave the scene.
We're all going to die here. started repeating over and over in her head and for once, Abby didn't know what to do.
"You've seen a few dead bodies, haven't you?" It was only technically a question. Either Eliot was in shock or he's seen this type of thing before. He reminded her of Gibbs in that no matter what happened, he remained calm and levelheaded.
Unfortunately, too recent to be comfortable. Instead, Eliot pulled on a reluctant smile and reminded her gently, "I've worked Boston PD for a while now, darlin'. Seen some ugly things in my time." So yes, he was levelheaded and calm, but had a reason to be.
"Yeah, but I know field agents who've never seen a body, so it's not impossible that some cops haven't either." She shrugs, not really eager to pursue the line of questioning right now. But, Abby was feeling better, or as much better as you can with a couple of corpses decaying a few doors down.
