(blinks) Boiling water?? Chipping ice?? Yipes! I'm originally from Hawaii, where we wear shorts and eat outside year-round too. To me, "cold" meant 60 degrees Fahrenheit, and I never owned a coat or jacket until I moved to California. Vancouver sounded like a nice place to visit, until I read about your boiling water. Whoa...

Hey, post piccies of your grandbaby! This is the time when you cram the kidlet into an oversized Christmas stocking so that everyone goes "awww, how cute"!

I'm really mourning the trees in Stanley Park. I love that place, and it saddens to me to think what the winds have done there.

It sounds like you've been effected almost exactly the same as us down South. Seattle had it horribly, though. Some people were out of power for a week, maybe more, and quite a few people died. Fortunately, we got the less severe wind here, but we were also still suffering from the first one before the snow.

What a crazy month.
