I have had more than one of my newly found LJ friends comment about my userpic, so I thought I would explain it once and for all.

The userpic shows a groundhog/prairie dog/woodchuck (Marmota monax) in an official junior woodchuck uniform. This what the little tykes wear before they graduate

I love your icon. Thanks for the 'splanation. I'm learning how to do stuff with Photoshop very slowly. One would never know I've had it for like forever. When did version 3 come out?. I'm such a loser. All I've ever used it for was cropping photos for my old job. Some day I'm going to really know what I'm doing and become an icon queen. LOL

I used to live in Ottawa, where it seemed like every greenspace was full of ground hogs. Naturally, I wanted one. Then I realized that my cat (not my icon picture, but the other one) was rather like a groundhog. They're both big and fat, and don't look like they can move fast, but man can they motor when they're being chased. My cat's also a brownish colour, which helped with the groundhog theme. I'm still disappointed that I never got to have a groundhog, but I must say that my kitty is so much cuter.

I've always loved that icon. It never occurred to me that it had such a complex explanation though. :P
