This was depressing, but you did a really good job of capturing the Dean we have seen this season. I particularly loved this: "So, he’s surrounded by ghosts, only iron ain’t gonna do a thing now."

Thank you. I've enjoyed this season so far very much. But. I haven't felt the nerve to write anything set in it until now. And I still can't write Sam.

They talk in this strange language that finds pride in things ugly and shame in the normal and it’s more upside down than it should be given his upbringing.
Awwww hell, Dean. And that nightmare, a brother who's not, who would barely react if Dean were to cap every one of the fuckers.

I really like this--it deals with a lot of the issues that I think have been raised so far, and does so very well. I love the impression of Sam especially, the while Sam tilts his head and says, “Oh.” bit is very powerful and frankly pretty believable.

Very potent.

Thanks! I don't know what's up with Sam (not spoiled). But something is. And so I went with a slight Lucifer vibe because it seemed to me that Dean had to be thinking it, whether true or not.

Love this. It captures perfectly Dean's sense of disconnection after the year-long exile. ANd the last line is powerful.
