I hope you have someone you can stay with for a while! I would definately get out of that as soon as possible, look at student housing that's still avail. Look at a few houses, don't seem too desperate and then MOVE.
I don't know if there's still housing avail at my old house. It's expensive for student housing but the last thing you need to worry about is the landlords not being responsive. If something major like that happened, they'd undoubtedly fix it right away. Washers broke and we had new ones later that week, once the vanity broke and 2 days later they fixed it. They are a bit ornery about things and you won't have privacy for about half of Saturday every month, but ultimately worth it I think.
The sooner you get out of there, the better for your sanity!
That's even worse than my literally falling apart house that should have been condemned, that I was staying in during second eyar.
Yeah, the problem is that I have a lease contract signed so getting out of the house isn't that easy. I've tried talking to Off-Campus Housing about it for any advice but there doesn't seem to be much I can do, especially since the reality is that the Realtor has been responding pretty quickly to this emergency.
He says people will be coming next weekend to get the root removed so hopefully he keeps his word and that will get done.
I wish I could let you live with me, but we dont get bus service where I live. If you ever need a place overnight in a panic, dont be afraid to call me. I will come pick you up. I would rather that then for you to suffer. (do you have my home number?)
But yeah, get out of that house. If you have to commute, maybe it will be worth it in the end. Its just for a year and it will give you time to read on the way. If thats not an option, there will be alternatives. It just might take a little while to find the right one for you.
If you need to get out for a bit, also feel free to shoot me a message. I do nothing 90% of most days right now. So I can come hang out/help you blow some steam off if you need to.
Aww, thanks for the offer ♥ I think things will turn out okay. This is a pretty big problem after all and there's no way the Realtor can just ignore it this time.
I don't have your home number or anything! I only have your old Toronto number. D:
Ah, I dunno about commuting. It'll just take too much time out of each day (around 5-6 hours for a round trip), not to mention having to wake up much earlier in order to get to school on time. x_x I think that having to do that will probably greatly diminish whatever motivation I have left for school right now, haha.
We should hang out some time! It's been a while since I last saw you. D:
Oh really? I didnt realize it was that far for you. :(
My cell number is my toronto number still. >< My home, Ill give you another time. If ever in an emergency, I can be there.
Lets meet up then! Im planning to meet some people eventually at Mac. If you want to name a day which is good for you, as long as its not a thursday, I can probably be there. I know I will be at Mac on the 19th. Ill be free in the afternoon. (probably around 1:30) if you can meet up then. :)
Ahhh well it's not like they forced the tree roots into the pipes, ahaha. xD;;
The girls in the basement have decided to do that for the rest of the term but I dunno, moving back just doesn't seem like an option because it's just such a hassle with all the stuff that needs to be moved, and then the long commute every single day. x_x I've already missed quite a few classes when I was sick last week, I don't think I can afford to miss anymore, haha.

I understand how frustrating this must be.

That SUCKS. You guys should sue their asses! They deserve it big time.
Maybe you should move back home or something for the time-being, I'm sure even if you missed a few classes the profs will understand.
