*Anyone approaching that particular couch - yes, that one over there, with the slight cigar-burns on the upholstery and the pair of high-top black leather boots hanging over the arm - will be able to hear Hook's low, sardonic voice muttering.
It seems he's having a conversation with himself, or, perhaps even more worrying, with the large, leather-bound book he has propped up against his drawn-up knees.*
Tempestuous...no...maelstrom...no...
*The fingers on his remaining hand are covered in ink. The culprit? An elegant (if somewhat leaky) old-fashioned pen, with which it seems he is trying to compose*
...apocalyptic...blast!
*He closes the book with a snap and lets his hand drop. Ink spatters, and Hook peers up over the arm of the couch, blue eyes tight with annoyance*
Is it better to get one's point across in a single statement or by explaining at length?
*And if no-one has an answer to that, any synonyms for the word "stormy" would no doubt be favourably accepted.*
((EDIT: Mun has to collapse into bed. Thankyou for all the replies so far - will catch up as soon as I can.))
