I guess my mom's and my conversation was pretty indicative of how they always are. It's difficult to get her to see my point of view sometimes. Even more difficult when I get angry

You're so right. When you're a tourist, it's a bunch of nameless people. But what we need to remember is everyone has a story. Everyone has a family. We can't take advantage of others just because we were lucky enough to be born white in the most powerful nation on earth.
