Well, the break's not probably a bad idea, considering how much the Show's given us to chew on this season... and who knows? Maybe I'll be able to spin out something other than half-assed random bits of fics. There's a desire to make a "Road So Far" picspam with screencaps from the Show and quotes from Legacy

I'm not sure where, but I saw someone mention that an interview said that the publisher!fan was an exaggerated version of Sera Gamble. I have no sources for this though.

And firmly of the opinion that (other than gen) fanfic should not be brought to the attention of The Powers That Be.

I'm with you there. But since that was allowed to air, I'm accepting that this is the way things are (and I'm also staying out of the wank).

I wonder what a deal with a YED is sealed with... Well, in 4x03 it was a kiss, but funny how we missed John sealing the deal in 2x01... *waggles eyebrows

Luckily, only the merest echoes of any sort of wank make it to my flist. But yeah... This is the way things are. I'm not complaining. Just feeling a tad self-conscious every time I run across a mention of it.

Oh, I just read that, too. It's a little sad that they didn't include her name because that could've toned down the wank a notch. And yeah, my flist acted like grown-ups about the whole thing even if there were some that weren't happy about it; mostly I was just really surprised to see people talking about the show bashing the fans, because I hadn't seen it like that at all. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, though.

Has someone written a meta on blood and its pronounced presence in Season Four already? Or do I have to? Because it's crying out to me so very, very strongly...

Oh! Do! I really like the tension between the different meanings of "blood" in the context of this show, being things that both bind and tear the Winchester family apart.

I second the motion on a blood meta! Also, sade, thanks for looking through those epi/book titles and coming up with ideas why certain epi/titles were included and others weren't. My brain is dead and work is eating my fandom time.

That fangirl/publisher was also a VotW in "The Usual Suspects" where she wore (strangely) a very similar wrap-around sweater. Show seems to be recycling actors (or else there aren't enough actors in Vancouver) as the girl under the spell in "Wishful Thinking" was also the girlfriend of the Asian man who gets doubled by the shape shifter in "Skin".

Heh! You know, I recognized that yellow and red cigar box from "AHBL-2". I'm pretty sure Dean pulled a fake ID out of it when he was frantically putting together his deal box at the crossroads.

I'm beginning to strongly suspect that killing Lilith will break the final seal.AHH! Me, too! I sort of love the damned-if-you-do-and-damned-if

Somehow Sam killing Lilith while knowing it would raise Lucifer seems a bit ... scary? not like Sam? very vengeful, obsessive darkside-ish? Not to mention it would make Sam seem more like John than bleeding-heart-Sam-in-the-pilot.

That would be sure be hard to imagine. *ponders*

I suppose Sam could rationalize away a report of it being the final seal.... though his character would certainly take a significant hit if he did.

I could see Sam killing Lilith if she directly threatens Dean, choosing Dean over all others like Dean tried to choose his mother and father over everyone their hunting would have saved in In the Beginning Certainly would bring on some symmetry to balance Dean's ongoing dilemma of choosing Sam over risking the fulfillment of the YED's end-game.

Otherwise, we're left with Sam not knowing, though I suspect Dean would find out at some point while Sam had gone off to confront Lilith. Hmmmmm...hmmm.hmm.

And I wanna write a good, long, deep meta on blood! But I've been barely able to sit down for five minutes the last couple of days, not to mention anything about concentrating on one thing at a time. Being so scatterbrained does not a good meta make. :p

Then again, RED's were Lillith's acquisitions team, so they might have to be in the heirarchy of demon-nookie, but YED would be outside it. So yeah, thumb-wrestling. *nods*

Well, until we get to Shadow it's simply the adventures in the order they appeared in the series. But afterwards, it strikes me that they all involved moral dilemmas of some kind, and issues of free will vs. destiny. I'm glad you suggested that though because I'd been wondering about this issue!

Obviously, I've been way too freaked out about all that Free Will vs. Fate-stuff to even think about it in the context of the Supernatural-'books'...
