Good for you! So does that count as 4th place because you got those 2 extra checkpoints, even though it took you longer than some of the teams that only did the required 13? Or did I read that totally wrong?
They rank you starting by how many checkpoints. The teams who got all 30 were first, and ranked by time. Then teams who got 29 were ranked by time, etc.
We were pretty happy with how we did, especially since about 15 teams dropped out of the race and didn't even finish.
