It's very poignant for such a short piece, nicely done. I think you captured the emotions very well, it was actually kind of cathartic. ♥

Thank you so much! \O/ I really wanted to dig into that seemingly unending moment of agony, so I'm glad that came through!

Your welcome :) I forgot to ask about something I was wondering about. Since this is XI, why did you decide to use the TOS pairings? Maybe this is the shipper in me, but I was always under the impression that Chapel and Uhura were brought down specifically because the Platonians found the women Spock and Kirk were attracted to, but I suppose since the Platonians are sadists it could have been for any reason.

Actually, I'd wanted to write this for TOS, but since the prompt was for XI, I figured it might be interesting to see the same scenario through that lens, for the added angst value. I definitely agree that the Platonians were sadistic bastards, so who knows what sick crap they were trying to pull? I'm thinking that maybe they decided it'd be fun to break up the actual couple, and pair them with people that had one-sided affections for them. ^_~

Poor Christine. I liked how you took "Plato's Stepchildren" and added elements from Star Trek XI. I also liked how you describe Christine's conflicting emotions about this moment with Spock.

Oooooh, I really love the angsty twist that the Reboot adds to the episode, you draw that out so well. Wonderful work!

Thanks so much, hon! :D Once I decided to really go with Reboot for it, the angst fell right into place. ^____^

Though the piece is short, you really bring out the intensity of what must have been such an emotionally trying situation. For so many different reasons too. Great piece! :)
