The neverending story? Metatext in Princess Tutu episode 17

Feb 21, 2013 14:41

This post started out as a comment that I intend to post on Mark Watches later today, when Mark and his commenters discuss Princess Tutu episode 17 (Crime and Punishment).

I tracked down the source of a page of German text on a book Fakir reads in Ep. 17. Drosselmeyer didn't write it. Neither did the Princess Tutu screenwriters. ( Evidence is behind the cut, along with awful Google Translate German translations that I'd love help with. )

As if I needed another reason to love Princess Tutu!

I saw the DW comments on when Drosselmeyer is from. Maybe he's a time traveler? It would probably makes as much sense as the other theories about him. I mean hell, the man is neither really living nor dead.

He could be a time traveler! There's no reason for him to be stuck in one moment in time.

Every time I think I've got it all, I find more! It's unbelievable!

The feathery bit of hair flying upwards in Ahiru's hair is mirrored by the feathery bit in Rue's hair, especially when she's Kraehe, and even Uzura's got a vertical lock of green hair!
