Montani Semper Liberi - This might sound conceited

Sep 18, 2013 10:51

"Mountaineers are always free."

There is an independent and stubborn strength to the mountains.  Whether you live around young hotheads or more rounded, well aged ones there is a certainty within them.

"Some build temples and some find altars,
some come in tall hats and robes spun fine.
Some in rags, some in gemstone halters,
some push the pegs back in line.

I see the mountain, the mountain comes to me,
I see the mountain and that is all I see."

What my heart heard there, sitting on a stone wall, looking into the trees and seeing the sunlight move, was simple.
"It is time to come back and sit with the older mountains for a while."

Where you're bound, there may not be mountains in view every day, but they'll be within reach when you want or need them. Green, White, Adirondack, Catskill...

From Phil Collins' _Hello, Goodbye_

(full lyrics here: http://www.metrolyrics.com/we-said-hello-goodbye-lyrics-phil-collins.html)

Turn your head, don't look back, set your sails for a new horizon, don't turn around, don't look down
Oooh there's life, across the tracks, and it's really not surprising, it gets better when you get there.

Namaste', my dear.

*hugs*

I liked this from my FB

Her: what are you going to be doing? it's a big change

Me: Learning from yesterday, living for today, and hoping for the tomorrow instead of living in the past, avoiding the present, and dreading the future.
