This was so worth the wait. The language is gorgeous and the flow is perfect, you can *smell* the imagery as you read and Bobby's just so perfectly Bobby. His grin, his eagerness to tease Greg, his easy, comfortable relationship with Shaun.
This is the best piece you've ever written. Hands down. Love, love, love. (And there's a Nick/Greg mention, so if you want to store it on the archive you can get away with it.)
*blushes* Well, yeah, I still wish Bobby woudl cooperate and let me finish the challenge fic, but no luck so far. Of course, it may be that Shaun's the one not cooperating, as it's his scene in the challenge where I stopped. The bastard.
I'm glad I got it all across in so few words, though. Bobby is just so Bobby that I love to write him. And, as I see it, he and Shaun are a true old married couple, with a long past behind them, so they're in a whole different place from so many of the pairings that I read and write. That difference is something that I enjoy.
This is the best piece you've ever written. Hands down. Love, love, love.
*blushes and grins goffily* Thanks. Sometimes it just comes to me, and maybe the fact that Bobby has just been sitting around in the back of my mind for the whole summer helped.
You know, I don't care if you want to store all your Bobby fic on the archive. It's my archive, I can play favorites if I want. Besides, there's probably never going to be a Bobby archive, and that's just not right.
Dude, Bobby should so get his own archive. Maybe I'll make one myself after we learn to make webpages for my female icon class. I could even make my own archive. Hmm.
Aww, I loved it. Really. Especially since I think Bobby is one of the cutest things ever (even before I knew he was gay, must have been the spider sense of mine, heh) and this fic just made him even more human in my eyes. We need to see more of the CSIs at work in the lab.
Oh, and you couldn't resist, could you? The morning that Greg blushed as Nick walked in on the heels of the joke was when Bobby knew he would soon be able to make jokes right back. Well, it's only a matter of time, babe, thanks for keeping the hope alive.
Bobby is the best, yeah. My love for him is right up there with my love for Nick and Greg. In fact, there are times that I think I like him more than Greg, but when I think that I feel guilty, like I'm dissing Greg. Ah, well.
And, speaking of spider sense, Caroline wrote a fic with gay Bobby in it before any of us knew that Bobby was gay or even that Gerald McCullouch was. It was bizarre when we all found out.
I adore this. The attention to small details, the theme of smell, the domestic bliss, the Bobby-ness of it, it's absolutely wonderful, and it doesn't read false like so many gay-family fics do (I don't think gay families ring false, just many times the characters pushed into it)
I understand what you mean about forcing it - not everyone fits wiht kids, after all. And, really, Bobby is just at that place, and he's just that kind of guy. He's definitely father-material, which I think makes it easier to portray.
Heh. Well, there's a Lex and Clark in my head that do as they live happily ever after, but Lex and Clark don't live happily ever after, so we all know how in character the two that live in my head are.

And I'll hop over to the archive then. Thanks.

He is cute and he is nice.
Maybe that's why we don't think he can be straight after all. ;)
And I pretend I didn't hear that about Greg.
:P

I have to agree with Caroline; this is easily some of the best work you've ever done. Are you proud? Because you should be.
