The BBC has recently released archived documents by Sydney Newman surrounding the creation of Doctor Who, including a few of the "secrets" of the Doctor and how the characters were supposed to originally act and draw in the audience.

Personally, the best bit I found was that Barbara's name was originally supposed to be Lola. I think you know what
