see, I LOVED the beginning, but I felt like the end was such a let down! I loved her writing style, but I just wasn't interested in the actual story by the end.

I didn't get to like Jane Eyre until I read it on my own. I need to do the same thing with "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" - I read for school and hated, so maybe now I'll at least find some merit in it.

yeah, that's how I feel about a lot of the books I read in high school. I thought I hated The Great Gatsby, but when I read it on my own, it became one of my favorites.
