It had started innocently enough; waking to find the city a dazzling display of neon blues on black with a visual style he hadn't seen since watching from Sora's point of view while he wandered the Radiant Garden's mainframe... from the inside. The experiences at the time had really left him wanting to try riding one of those Lightcycles personally; his opinion of how Sora had done things versus how the other drivers he'd seen implying that his Other had been doing it wrong. Even if the other drivers had been Heartless ( ... )

She had heard the footsteps before she had even caught a glimpse of the light from the lantern. They echoed in the hollow of the passageways, making it easy to detect when someone was coming... but also just as easy for she, herself, to be detected. And while she had fought to ease her breathing so that she was no longer panting, whoever it was that had heard her? They were already on her trail.

The fire spell she had managed to sustain as a light source was quickly extinguished. And then she shuffled quickly to her feet, her clothes stained by the slightly dampened earth, holding her ground. Keyblade flashing into existence in her hand. But then light was illuminating the room. Light that made her wince as she tried to bear through it and see who had decided to accompany her, catching someone shrinking behind the crate before...

She found herself lowered her keyblade until it rested on the ground, the tension fading slightly from her body. And then she took one cautious step forward. Was that...?

"Roxas?"

As he crouched behind the crate, he'd contemplated calling his Keyblade to him -if nothing for use as a spell amplifier. Though magic wasn't his strongest point, the narrow passages that he was now confined to would have been extremely counter-productive to his usual fighting style. Yet something he couldn't quite put his finger on told him that he needn't worry about such things. It was a feeling that became all the clearer when he heard a very familiar voice call out his name.

He blinked a moment in curiosity. Though it could have been a horrid mistake in any other situation, he stands up and glances toward the entry into the room-sized cavern he'd found. The light could've easily been ten times worse and he was confident he'd still have recognized who it was.

Roxas heaves a sigh of relief as he walks over, some part of him quietly amused when he notices that she did actually call her Keyblade to her. Still, even in a miserable little hole like they now found themselves in, he couldn't help but to feel happy to see her ( ... )

She couldn't really have been blamed for summoning her keyblade in retrospect. Considering she was virtually cornered, she had little other choice than to push forth. Although that didn't erase the sheepish feelings all the same when Roxas finally propped himself out from behind the crate and then stood, shortly making his way over towards her. Xion finally allowed her keyblade to return to from whence it came as he cut the distance, an awkward sideways smile decorating her face.

An expression that turned into a slight frown of frustration at his comment. One that mellowed into a exhausted smile. Maybe with a hint of her old playfulness in her eyes. "Looks like someone still has a bad sense of direction." Playing it calmly. Trying not to remember the awkward from the week before when she, uh... latched onto him that one time and played NEVER LET GO.
