Who: Alice (bloodiedchain) and Jack Vessalius (bound_by_this) What: An awkward reunion that spans a century When: Backdated to the day after this whole thing Where: Casa de Nightray Warnings: PG-13 Status: In Progress
Alice herself was having a sleepless night -- despite the city around them being attacked by Heartless and the like, she was still more or less apathetic to the city's plight ever since she'd realized that Oz was gone. It was enough that it left her despondant and lonely, and she'd even cried a few nights because of it -- something that she didn't think she'd ever do in this place.
For this particular night, though, she was more or less compelled to wander around the house, insomnia overruling any chance at a dreamless sleep. Perhaps some meat would help her get some rest?
She was about to wander over to the kitchen when she spotted an open door nearby -- curiousity getting hte best of her, Alice peered inside and nearly fell over in shock at seeing Jack again. "Jack! You're... you're here..."
Hearing his name jolted him awake. He sat up immediately, glancing over his shoulder, and for a moment he almost forgot that he wasn't in the world he should be.
"Alice!" The smile that touched his face was as genuine as any that he'd worn since his appearance in the city. Jack got to his feet, stepping happily towards her. That's right- she'd mentioned she was staying with Gilbert and....ah. It was amazing how quickly the events from but a day past so readily jumped back into one's thoughts when he'd thought them gone.
"I'm sorry I hadn't told you sooner. It was all decided rather suddenly...."
"What do you have to apologize for? It's not like I mind, exactly..." Alice huffed, crossing her arms and pouting a little as she glanced back at him. Somehow, he still remained the same when she'd last seen him in their own world, though to be fair it could be because he was the same as in her memories... the same him from a time long forgotten.
She didn't really seem to bother with manners at the moment, stepping into the room without hesitation and approaching Jack. "H-how were things? Are you... settling in as best you can, anyway?"
Shrugging, Jack simply waved a hand at her to dismiss the subject then. She was here in front of him now, so finally they were able to meet again, face to face.
Not seeming to mind that Alice had invited herself inside, he watched her curiously. Although he kept a neutral smile on his face, he was somewhat confused inside. Which Alice was this? Her demeanor was.... well, was it because of her loss of memories? Was this the other Alice? Things didn't match up, which only added more and more to the growing pile of questions and the ever increasing gap of events that Jack only had a vague idea about.
"Hm?" His thoughts snapped back to the present. "Oh- I'm... Well, as settled as one can be around here, I suppose you could say," he replied with a mild chuckle. Between being pulled into a strange world and a practically deserted city and then watching it become overrun by shadowy creatures, yes, Jack could agree that under such circumstances, things were going as swimmingly as could be expected.
