I finally got my act together and posted the final chapter of Stuff, on AO3 as rthstewart here and as Gheorghe2 on fanfiction.net here.

I dithered a long time about posting the final chapter -- the scene with Luke and Mara in her Coruscant Palace room and its aftermath, as well as what I did with some of Leia bothers me now. I've added a warning

Yep yep! I'm good with it. It is what it is and it's very old and so I am but I am still appreciative of how it brought me closer to so many wonderful people.

Funny you should bring up Stuff right now-- I've had a printout of it in a binder on my bookshelf since, oh, about 1996 (well, from about 1996 to 1999 it was hidden under my mattress), and just last month, while packing up all our stuff for the move, I finally decided I didn't need it in dead-tree format anymore. It was hard to part with.

I'm really glad you have it up on AO3 and FFN, and I agree with PG re: perceived flaws. :)

Awwww. it's funny how many people did have a copy of it for a long time. I printed it once, when I delivered it to everybody at our first Chicago Con. That was the only time. I delivered the last chapter to PG and Yav. Good times!

I still have my printed copy (and printed copies of the X-Files/Star Wars crossover). I remember there was something I didn't understand about the ending, but I certainly don't remember the specifics now. I never would have met you and the other Club Jaders if it hadn't been for Stuff.

Count me among those who have fond memories associated with Stuff, not just for the story itself but for the quasi-semi-culture that did sort of develop around it. As others have said, it was part of my developing friendships with CJ at the time, as well as discovering the new world of internet and fanfic. And yeah, revisiting things written from earlier periods of life can be a mixed bag. I think you've summed it well with your Luke/Mara assessment: As Luke would say, Stuff is wretched melodramatic space trash. And as Mara would say, we're all entitled to a little trash in our lives.
