I always love the way you write Peter and Susan, and it was nice (and different) to see the High King take such an interest in more domestic matters here. Having Dalia appear as his Guard here easily set the timeline as being earlier in your 'verse and I kind of miss seeing her as a Guard in your current stories.

As for the AO3 vs FF.net feedback... well, for me it's because you ended up posting the story on AO3 first. Otherwise, I would've stuck to reviewing on FF.net; I was beginning to think you weren't going to put it on FF.net until I got the alert in my inbox.

Thanks so much. Yep, we don't see much of Dalia in the later stories. I should probably remedy that sometime. Thanks so much for reading. As I said, I'm not terribly consistent with Peter --- he can be a bit clueless but I think he does take more an interest in the domestic affairs of the household than Edmund or Lucy does. And I think a lot of that is first that he is very conscious of showing Narnia off well and because at first he and Susan were having to do so much together, alone.

Yes, I see the Susan-Peter alliance as very strong, especially in the early years, when they still felt that the family worked with an older two-younger two split. The ways that dynamic changes is a fascinating avenue for exploration, I think. Well, I guess all family dynamics are. Ooooohhh...you make me want to write a family story, now! :) (No, I don't have one in mind.)

I really like the way Susan in the Llama-running is so much older, sharper, tougher, her own woman.

and... what next? early days with Lambert, maybe? or Polly and Whipsnade Zoo, with Lion.
