They look plastic. Does darkness embalm them after it hollows them out?

[A pause. Sheets ruffle. The voice grows closer, louder, higher as it wanders through daydreams.]

You should constrain your ideas to a piece of paper that isn't connected to the network... [He sounds pretty groggy but hell, he's awake now, why not rub it in.] Do you sleep during normal hours? At all?

Have you tried writing while in the dark and just waking up? It was a convenient way to put it down before I went back to sleep!

[Not that he sleeps much, but he tries to keep a steady schedule.]

[At this point, he's not making sense on purpose. Because it's funny and it's better than losing his temper over this failure. He'll do that after the calls stop coming in. Or not. He's gotten things from Ansem and he might get some out of Saix.]
