I wrote this on a sewing blog about the skirt I've been working on for oh, I don't know, FOREVER. If any of you can wrap your head around it I would really appreciate it

The back waistband is folded down and sewn into a 'casing/tube'. The front waistband is not, it just has interfacing and is folded open according to directions.
alright I think I've got it, I really hate confusing directions, you should have seen me trying to figure out this vest pattern for a day and a half, drove my husband to tears of laughter.
It sounds like the waistband only has elastic in the back, I checked all my patterns and all I would do is run the elastic through the tube in the back, and stitch one end to secure. Remember a seam ripper is your friend.
