The Dark Knight isn't usually the type of movie I'd see, but there's sooooo much buzz about how FAB it is. One of my LJ friends is visiting next week, and she has free movie passes, so we're definitely going to check it out. I practically live next door to a large Cinemaplex, and I know it'll be jam-packed this weekend.
I just realized the last movie I saw at a theater was Brokeback Mountain.
It was spectacular! Just... ack! All yesterday I was bouncing at work, doodling little bat symbols in my notebook (during a meeting, no less), and just generally being a demented crazy fan. I made my roommates leave so that we got to the theatre an hour early - there was still a line, but we already had our tickets. I didn`t even register that Heath Ledger was playing the Joker. All I saw was the character, and that isn`t something that happens often for me. Most times I get distracted by the person playing the character. The whole movie was amazing. Roommies and I are talking about hitting up the Imax theatre to see it again tonight.
*pouts* The closest Imax for me is about 2 hours away. :(
I was so nervous yesterday morning. Our theater only presales tickets for that day. They open at noon, which is when I take lunch. I just kept imagining the worst happening that I wouldn't be able to get out in time and they'd be sold out. lol Then, the whole day was unbelievably busy, but I made sure my boss knew I couldn't stay after 5. :D
It really was hard to see Heath in the Joker. There was nothing to resemble any of his previous characters. I'm still blown away by it.
