*Claps hands (literally!)* Yay, Leoben! I'm so excited I didn't even finish reading your post. Wait.
Okay, now I'm done. You didn't sound whiny. You sounded like you needed to hear what every one us who writes needs to hear. Follow your instincts. Stop worrying so much. ;) You know what you need to improve on and when it hits just right. And write Leoben and Kara because . . . oops subliminal request. :)
Isn't it nice to talk with co-workers not about work? About other things in your life you find interesting? I had that experience a few months ago with a co-worker, (usually we were so busy there was no time to talk), I think we talked about Heroes. She pointed out to me that maybe I didn't like Peter because the guy playing him wasn't a very good actor. Perceptive woman. It was so refreshing.
And write Leoben and Kara because . . . oops subliminal request.
Heh, weirdly enough what I have in mind is Leoben without Kara. Yeah, everyone who's read anything by me is now shocked. (Frankly I'm rather surprised myself!)
I may have to try watching Heroes again over the summer if it's still available online. I watched the first few episodes and enjoyed it, but then I missed a few and didn't feel like catching up. (And yes, it's nice to have non-work conversations with co-workers.)
I'd take Leoben anyway you'd write him. He's so mysterious!
As for Heroes, I started watching it because one of my friends really liked it. I may have given up but I just hung in there. I really liked the finale, some didn't. It's just plain fun.
Oh, by the way, I love your Peter Parker icon and keep staring at it. I love Tobey as Peter. I've got to go see that movie. I'm avoiding any spoilers because it will be a while before I can see it.
Anyway, just feeling chatty, don't let this distract you from any Leoben-writing!
Ooooh, pretty Leoben icon. Very motivational. (speaking of icon-staring...)
Yes, Tobey Maguire does a good job with the role of Spider-Man. Good luck avoiding spoilers; it can be difficult sometimes. I'm currently in PoTC 3 spoiler-avoidance mode.
