Yeah, music is tough to share recommendations, because it's so subject to individual taste! The lead singer of The Breeders is the bassist from The Pixies. They really only had one big song - Cannonball - in the early 90s.
Myself, I have a moderately wide variety of musical taste, although it primarily hovers around pop / alternative rock. Hubby mostly likes stuff from the 80's, Barenaked Ladies, etc. I prefer the more modern stuff (Fun; Lindsey Stirling; Owl City; Bastille; Maroon 5; Andy Grammer; etc).
We also already own the Cars soundtrack, so don't bother recommending any of those songs. Well, rats. There goes my rec of the good version of "Life Is a Highway."
Ah yes - I like Highway to Hell, it's definitely a good option. I listened to Hey Pretty, but it's not my cup of tea - I like my songs sung, without so much narration.
A good chunk of the drive will be spent listening to Audio Books, so our music needs to be more musical. :)

How about AC/DC's Highway to Hell? Or the Poe & Mark Z. Danielwski version of Hey Pretty?
