It's been raining for almost a week now.

I really thought that during my six week break, I would spend a ton of time on LJ. Sadly, this is not what happened. I don't even know what I did with the last six weeks. It feels like I was just panicking about finding out where I would be student teaching...now, I'm starting student teaching in just two days ( Read more... )

Quit reading the horror stories. Plenty of mothers enjoy having kids and look great after it. Have you ever thought that maybe all these "I hate my body" Mothers had issues with their body prior to being pregnant?

I have always been thin and hoped to get a bit bigger after giving birth....I ended up the same size as before getting pregnant and have stayed that way with no real effort.

This is true. You make a great point. I hope that it works that way with me. I don't have to struggle to maintain my body (I wear a size six, mostly.) But I do work out to keep myself toned. I sure hope these habits help me to feel good about myself during and after pregnancy. Thank you for the support!

time flies really fast when you're not paying attention to it, it's kinda crazy.

I thought about going off the pill because it has definitely suppressed my sex drive (not because I want kids lolol but you knew that), but Jeff said that he rather I stay on it because my PMS is godawful (I haven't had a period since September 2011). I was like huh, I'm that awful? :P

as for reassurance about pregnancy and stuff, Weddingbee might be a good one for you to check out because they have pregnancy boards :)

Uh, yeh that is so true. One day it was the last day of finals, now it's the day before student teaching. Just so crazy.

HAH. I skip mine every so often, but I find when I skip it, I get even worse PMS than if I just have it every month. I plan to skip it probably the rest of the time I'm on the pill since it's only a few more months. I'll have freedom from it for a little while, at least.

And I'm always glad (well, not really glad, but maybe not so alone) when someone else says that the pill has done the same thing to them. I didn't notice it at first, but now I definitely see that it has totally put a damper on it.

I'm going check that out! I'm a total overplanner. I obsess about things, so I research EVERYTHING so I can feel somewhat prepared for whatever life decision I'm about to make. (As if you didn't already know that from reading my entries.)

I've stacked mine for months now, though even when I take a break (like I did a month ago), my period doesn't come. I don't know what to do about my drive, even though I do enjoy sex when I have it, without going off the pill.

oh, and I forgot to mention that Weddingbee not only has pregnancy boards, but also TTC (Trying To Conceive) ... so you'll be able to have women to talk to who are in the same situation you are :)

I'm on Weddingbee myself lol mostly giving advice to others about relationships and opinions on their wedding-related questions XD

That's how I am. It's fun while it's going on--but wanting to initiate it just doesn't exist.

I joined and people are so helpful, I love it! Thank you so much for recommending it!

Good luck with student teaching! I know you'll be great. :)
I wouldn't worry too much about your post-baby body. You have a wonderful body now and I'm sure it will be just was wonderful after you guys have babies. Besides, Jeremy LOVES you! I don't think a couple stretch marks or some lose skin will change that. And I'm sure he will love the little one that those stretch marks helped bring in to this world, so don't stress yourself out over something like that! :)

If you're in decent (not even good, just decent) shape before and during the pregnancy, the stomach isn't really too bad. Our wedding was a month after I had Mathias, and I'll admit I was still a good ten pounds heavier than before (but I gained 37 lbs during pregnancy), but my stomach didnt look gross, it just wasn't perfectly flat. And I barely exercise, like, ever. So I don't think you need to worry :)

For example, this is the most unflattering picture I can find of myself from the wedding day:

THIS WAS ONLY A MONTH AFTER? You look fantastic!!!!

I work out fairly regularly now (with the exception of the last few months of last semester, I just lost my motivation.) But I'm back on track and plan to keep up my routine so that when I do get pregnant I can still work out. I plan to talk to my doctor when I get pregnant to find out the best ways to keep in shape while pregnant (of course, safe ways) and what's the best way to satisfy not so healthy cravings. I do NOT believe in the "eating for two" crap. I've seen SO MANY women blow up doing that.

That eating for two crap is crap! My lady doctor told me pregnant women, unless underweight, only need about 300 extra calories a day. Some women use pregnancy as an excuse to just eat everything, lol.

And yes! I had Mathias on January 30, and the wedding was March 3, so it was like 33 days later. I had bought my wedding dress like two weeks before I found out I was pregnant, so we ended up doing the first fitting when I was just two weeks post partum! I was so emotional because I was convinced it wouldn't fit and I would have to scramble to find another dress. Thank goodness I slimmed down fast, because it was a $2500 designer dress! Lol

There's a lot of women whose bodies are perfectly fine after having a baby. They're the ones that get the comments "wow, you had a baby?" I have a feeling that's how you'll be. :)
