► If there's one think I hate about computers, it's dealing with computer problems. Got myself a trogan/worm/virus thingie this morning and have been spending the day (off and on) trying to get rid of it. Every time I think it's gone, I reboot and find it's back. Ok that's a blaster variant. Go here

Get and burn this disk. Boot from it and you should be able to happily move stuff around and back up what you want, there's virus tools and removers on the disk as well.

Thank you, but I think I finally got rid of the Trojan/worm last night. A friend linked me to a page with instructions on how to manually remove it and I think it worked. Also I installed Advanced SystemCare from another friend's suggestion and I think that helped too.

So far.

You use Firefox? Install NoScript, such things like self installing exe Files will then never happen to you again.

I'm not familiar with NoScript but I'll look into it. Thanks for the advice, Janina!

For some useful Firefox add-ons, take a look here: http://lemon-tree-x.livejournal.com/60037.html

NoScript is a bit annoying in the beginning, because some site won't work until you allow their scripts, but when you're used to it, you will love it.
