Summary: Dean sells himself into slavery on the glittering island of Atlantia. AU crossover between Supernatural and Stargate Atlantis.
Reccer's notes: This is an amazing exploration of Dean's character, his poor self-esteem and willingness to sacrifice anything and everything for his family. The joyous part is that Dean gives himself up as a slave expecting the worse, but then finds an embracing, supportive environment that nurtures him instead. It's not without it's perils though, this is a wild, adventurous read set in the present day - not a starship in sight. A passing acquaintance with Stargate Atlantis would be nice, but not necessary to enjoy this story. It's completely Dean centric.
[Short excerpt]Dean slid off his leather jacket. He tossed it over the back of the nearest chair, not worried about his car keys falling out. The Impala belonged to Sam now. Dean peeled off his blue sweater and then his jeans, and the stark white boxers he'd put on that morning, and his shoes and socks. The carpet was soft beneath his bare toes. The office air-conditioning hummed ever-so-faintly from behind the ceiling vents.
"You're exquisite," Sheppard said. "But you know that."
He fought not to blush. Exquisite. What was Sheppard, a girl? Dean shifted his gaze to the painting of City Atlantia hanging on the wall behind the man, but quickly caught himself and locked gazes again.
Sheppard rose fluidly from his chair. "You don't like compliments."
Dean wasn't sure an answer was required, so he kept silent. He needed this job. Needed it for Dad and Sam.
