Reccer's notes: This story is just shockingly dark evil!Sam. The first time I read it I had to keep stopping because I couldn't quite believe how evil Sam was. So safe to say this fic is not for the faint of heart, but it is wildly inventive and surprising and as always with tifaching's work, beautifully written.
[Short excerpt]It's too quiet in the car and Dean hopes Sam and Dad haven't been going at it again. They have a nasty spirit to face at the end of this ride and he doesn't want them going into the hunt distracted. A half dozen bodies have been found in the woods near Elmira, N.Y. All had been male, found naked and found to be victims of sexual assault and violent sexual abuse. Dean's not convinced it's something supernatural doing the killing, but Dad and Sam seem sure of it and that's good enough for him. They were heading for an isolated area in upstate New York. It was a few hundred miles from where the bodies were found, but Sam's research and Dad's ability to spot patterns had them sure it was the right place. Dean had made a few jokes and attempts at conversation, but his father had shut him down with a reminder that he would be going in first and instructions to get his head in the game. Sam had told Dean not to worry, he was just spending the trip thinking about what he would be doing when they got to the cabin.
John stopped the car outside a large, seemingly well maintained cabin down a long, deserted dirt road. It really was the middle of nowhere and Dean commented that you couldn't find a better place to keep someone captive.
"Yeah," Sam replied. "You could make someone scream for hours out here and no one would ever hear it."
