I would totally chat about them....if I had any idea who they were. I'm inferring from the comment above mine that they are political theorists? If this is the case I'm going to shut up because I don't know a damn thing about politics.

I appreciate the sentiment. Pretty much ALL I know about them is that they're political theorists, which is a problem seeing as I have a paper due tomorrow analyzing their ideas.

OK, I lied. I just can't write a paper about them.

um... my knowledge is probably more limited than yours but my understanding goes that

Locke said government has an obligation the people and if it fails to uphold htat obligtation the people have a right to change the government.

Rousseau said people are forced to conform to the society or government that hteir born in which then restricts them

that probably doens't help and may not be totally right, but i'm almost always up for debating political theory

Actually, Rousseau was way more progressive than that, he said that the people were the sovereign and made the laws, which they would then be forced to abide by.

I like Rousseau, even if he was hopeless idealist with a slightly nutty political structure. Locke was a bit of an ass because his main point was that government should protect private property, and screw everything else.

I just hate my paper. It explains the thinkers reasonably well, but my thesis is either very bad or non-existent, which is a bit of a problem.
