What does the "DCNu" hold for our bird boys?

Following the announcement of the revamp of the DCU in September this year, the fate of our favourite BatBoys has been left sort of up in the air... until today, when announcements about three of the four male Robin's were made

( First up.. who else, but Dick Grayson )

robin, nightwing, dick, multiple robins!, red hood: jason, robin!bruce

I feel conflicted.

On the one hand, I adore Jason, and I'm happy he is getting an ongoing.

On the other hand, Jason stories are very of hit-and-miss. I loved Winick's take and I liked Nicieza's and Morrison's, but I disliked Jones' and hated Daniel's. What if the ongoing suck?

Going back to the first hand, Jason is described as "anti-hero" and "outlaw vigilante". This pleases me, because I hate it when he is portrayed as a 100% evil villain, but I also don't want him to adopt Bruce's "NO KILL EVER!" rule. I like Jason with shades of grey.

But again on the second hand, I'm worried that this reboot might change his history. I'm extremely fond of Under The Hood and of the Lost Days mini, and I loved the recent Batman & Robin issue. I DO NOT want those stories to be retconned.

...I'm going to wait and see.

Yeah, I'm gutted about the lack of Winnick, no idea whose bright idea that was. Though I'm currently feeling uncharacteristically optimistic... after all, the main problem is when people write him as some kind of blood-thirsty villain, but since it's under 'anti-hero they'd have a job on.

I really, really love the art on the Red Hood cover! Also, I'm so glad Roy's got both arms back and is using his bow again!

Also! Dick as Nightwing!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *is happy*

I don't even mind that they are keeping Damian around, and that he'll be running with Bruce. I think it will be good bonding for them.

Tim will probably be with the Titans, since I haven't seen much announced with the Titans yet that is my guess for him. You have to have a Robin of some kind on that team.

Personally I hope the new Nightwing costume means that Tim's gets a revamp too, considering that the new Nightwing costume and Red Robin costume looks similar.

wait, when did roy get his arm back?

i am really not looking forward to this 'reboot'. it's just the same old same old, we're back 20 ago. because god forbid dc let their characters change at all.
