Well, the time has come for the final image (except that I have to make the olive pick yet. Damn!)here it is and if you say "It doesn't have any of the original cup in it!" guess what? It does as a spacer to float it above the surface of the table.
Here is the latest. the foot is finished and the edge has been upset, that is , thickened by hammering directly on the edge. In the picture, you see the stem in position. The bowl still has to be fitted.
I seem to be updating faster than people are commenting. So it goes. here is the detail on the foot almost complete. I still have to address how the stem connects. I will do that tomorrow. Take a look. I used a tripod for this shot so I could get all the detail.
I have started back on the foot. I have here the blank after it has just been annealed. You can see the first push up from the back. I intend to get the foot almost finished today.
Well, the rim of the bowl has been trimmed using a jewelers saw. I am pleased with the result. the ragged edge really contributes to the feeling of wind and chaos in the piece. Things are rolling along here.
Back to the bowl. I worked to refine the point that the stem will join it. Here is a picture of the stem being held in place where they will meet. I put a pretty deep depression where the stem fits.
well, the texturing is finished, I think. Next is the junction to the bowl. Remember the bowl? and the foot, must do the foot. Anyway, here is the stem.
