This little device ended up being a lot more useful than I thought, eh? It's practically a blessing in disguise.

[ Simon quietly stood at the edge of the department store, occasionally checking for updates on his PNG as he watched the chaos unfold in front of him. He knew of the rooftop sale thanks to a little get-together announcement from a Trainer on the SilphNet, and it immediately caught Simon's attention. It wasn't the actual sale that brought Simon here, rather, the fact that he knew the amount of Trainers this sale would attract, which gives a chance to scout for new and valuable Pokemon. After all, Trainers are the worst kind of penny-pinchers, and it's like moths being attracted to the flame ]

But so far, it's been absolutely boring here.

[ While Lyra is distracted by merchandise, Marill eventually bounces off, wandering in zig-zag directions and stops randomly - in front of Simon. The blue mouse glances up, and then makes a cute sound. ]

[ With most of his attention on scouting for potential Trainers, Simon didn't notice the small Marill standing next to him at first. However, Simon turned his head to the blue mouse after the noise reached his ears, and he soon found himself crouched on his knees to get a better look at the Pokemon ]

.....Hmm....

[ He curiously eyed the Pokemon, observing every inch and detail of the Marill for anything that stood out. After a few minutes, Simon let out a sigh, and softly placed his hand on top of the Marill's head, petting him ]

There's absolutely nothing special about you, you poor blue abomination. The thirteen other Marill I have are exactly like you, and Marill's themselves are far too common to sell or keep in a collection... curse your luck for being born as such a miserable creature.

[ The Marill really should have felt offended but, instead, he just closed his eyes and made another adorable squeak, waving his arms and shaking his tail at the strange stranger's strange actions.

By now, Lyra had realised her Marill had wandered off again. Leaving the counter, she started to look around, not calling out Marill's name just yet.. ]

[Dawn is currently looking at the goods on sale, with a big smile on her face. The only problem is that she'd have to carry it all back. Maybe Lucas could help her? In any instance, she was looking at the Pokedolls on sale.]

Oooh, that's cute... or maybe that might be cuter... hm....

[Piplup is sitting on Dawn's hat, looking out for Lyra. Apparently it was hard to miss her, because she had a Marill!]

[ There's a happy, bouncing Marill off to the side but said Marill doesn't seem to be with anyone as he jumps up and down near a table. He hasn't spotted Piplup yet either, just having fun in the meanwhile. ]

[It's Dawn who spots Marill bouncing off to the side. She looks at the poor Pokemon alone and goes up to it.]

Hey there... where's your trainer?

[ The Marill squeaks happily, waving his arms at Dawn. Whether he recognises her or not is unclear, but he's just happy to see her all the same, while ignoring that question of hers.

He, however, does say hello to Piplup happily. ]
