[ Even an idol needed a break sometimes. As her producer was distracted by whatever he was distracted by, Lucky and Honey decided to leave the building in favour of fresh air - as fresh as air in the city could be.

Outside, Lucky tilted her head and marvelled at the six pokémon there. A beautiful Ninetails! A sleek Vaporeon! And there was- ]

Ah, a driftloon! Look, Honey, it's a driftloon!

[At the sound of a voice, Katie's attention drifted looking over to see where it came from. She offered a smile to the unfamiliar face.]

She's friendly, don't worry! She's a bit of a prankster though, just to warn you!

Oh, good evening!

[ Her Cherrim, Honey, chirps happily as well. ]

Really? A friendly but mischievous driftloon? That's the opposite of Flight!

[She smiles brightly at Cherrim. Hammy, her Shinx and Kura, the Drifloon both begin to curiously wander over in Lucky's direction.]

Yeah? Flight? Is that the name of your... Cherrim? [She pauses. That doesn't make much sense, but she doesn't want to assume anything.]

What? So lonely already? popquizonberry June 5 2010, 05:31:03 UTC
[After parting ways with Bill, Amelia decided to go outside. She needed fresh air and her Pokémon were bored and, probable, hungry.]

Time really flies when you're having fun... Well, Aria, Blues, do you want to fly a bit?

[Her Pokémon agree - they were bored as hell in that building. She watches them playing with each other.]

Guess I should walk as well... eh? Is there someone there?

[Umm, I'll try to adapt to this new format... And I'm not really sure about time here - maybe Amelia should be listening to Bill?]

Nah, she's cool! lovesmythology June 5 2010, 06:08:27 UTC
[Well, it sure seemed busy outside tonight. Katie presumed that there were others with the same idea as her. Hearing the voice, she looks over, and as per usual, she offers a smile.]

Oh, don't mind me! I was just giving these guys a little break from the insanity in there!

[Amelia looks on the direction from the voice came from - and all she sees is a smile. On the face of a girl, of course, but the smile is that captivating.]

A good idea, indeed. I decided to do the same, but I didn't expect to find company so soon.

[Then, Amelia looks at the girl again and only now realization dawns upon her.]

You are a trainer, right? Except for the "insanity", have you enjoyed this event so far?

Sometimes, you just have to expect the unexpected!

[Her smile only widens, giving Amelia a nod to confirm her suspicions.]

That's right! Even with the insanity, it's been awesome! There's so many cool people here; I don't get to do this often when I'm out traveling all the time.

Hey, what about you? Are you a trainer too?

[Now that he thought about it in the sense that there would obviously be other people at this party-thing, it was becoming more and more apparent as a bad idea. The food was the only decent happening, his pockets lined with napkins and stuffed full with overpriced cracker snacks, and his mouth equally as engorged. He'd played wallflower, sticking close to the buffet and looking rather out of place in his grubby clothes, but apparently, either no one seemed to mind, or no one seemed to care. Whatever.

Still, the atmosphere was getting more and more stuffy, and finally, Zeke had to relinquish his place next to the cocktail sausages and scoot along the wall until he found a door to the outside.

But damn it all if there weren't people here, too. Maybe if he was just quiet enough, they'd leave him alone.]

[Katie had indeed spent a good portion of the night socializing with just about anyone she was given the opportunity to talk to, but taking a breather was nice. There was something relaxing to her about big cities after dusk.

Of course, they did have their downfalls at times. Like... hobos. The really creepy ones who often made lewd remarks in her general direction.

She hadn't noticed Zeke inside - it was so crowded that it was impossible to see everyone. She wouldn't have noticed him outside either, had it not been for the way both Hahani and Blink's ears had both curiously perked at the sound of footsteps. It was quiet enough for them to catch it, and they both seemed both wary and curious to investigate.

Kate looked down at them, and then over to where they were staring.]

Oh come on, guys! I'm sure it's just someone else coming outside.

[Neither of them seemed too sure though. Hahani forged ahead, while Blink stood behind Katie, nudging her to go forward so he could follow. Where it led ( ... )

[It wasn't so much the Pokémon that startled him, it was the motions they took; something set his mind a-flicker, and he shifted sideways without warning, hunkering down in defensive reflex and staring at the Vaporeon with wide eyes.

Despite the obvious shock and fear, Zeke said nothing, completely still and utterly intent on any movement, including that of the humans. Already, he was calculating a quick escape, muscles tensing at the thought of bounding over the rail and seeing how far away he could get before night fell.]

[Katie wasn't sure what it was. Maybe it was the way he was dressed, or the way he stood -- but Katie didn't think he'd do anything to hurt her. Sure... he looked kind of grody in her opinion, but that didn't mean the guy was there to cause trouble?

Right, leave it to her to try and give him the benefit of the doubt, but she stood her ground.]

Haha, Blink, stop that! [Her tone was a bit harsh, eliciting a strange reaction from the Pokemon. Katie's expression remained stern though as she kneeled down to their level.] I know what you're both trying to do and I love that, but you can't just do that to random strangers! I didn't train you to be that way and I don't want you to feel like you need to threaten someone else to protect me!

[Not giving either of them a chance to respond, she looked up at Zeke. She did a once-over on him, decidedly not impressed with how he looked. A twinge of disappointment laced her voice as she spoke to Zeke.]

Sorry about that. They can be -- ugh -- just a little overzealous sometimes.

[Sometimes, even Green needs a break from schmoozing. Stepping outside for some air, he sees a familiar face-and not one he'd expected to see.

He walks over to her, resting a hand on her shoulder, as Eevee bounds over to say hello to Haha.]

Katie! I thought you were in Sinnoh. You here with someone?

[Katie jumps, mildly startled at the feeling of a hand no her shoulder. But since none of her Pokemon seemed to react to any of this, she just turns quietly to see who it is.

And she's pleasantly surprised to see Green. She gives him a wide and excited grin - for some reason, she hadn't expected to see him.]

Green!! It's been forever, omigod. How have you been? How's everything back in Viridian?

[Getting a bit ahead of herself, she takes in a breath before answering his questions. Hahani seems both amused with Katie and excited to see Eevee, but focuses his attention more on greeting Eevee.]

Oh. Yeah, I was in Sinnoh, but I wasn't going to miss something like this! [She pauses. And her cheeks flush - very slightly. It's a good thing it's pretty dark outside.] With... someone? [...] No, no! It's just me and these guys!

[Eevee touches her nose to Haha's, making happy chirruping noises. Then she tries to jump on Haha's back! She is way too used to hitching rides on her friends, seriously.

Green smiles at Katie's obvious excitement.]

Fine, everything's fine. [He gives her a little look, as if suddenly remembering;] You should call your mom more often, though. She was asking about you the other day.

[He shakes his head.] You came all by yourself? No wonder you're hiding out here. Come on, I'll introduce you to some people. [He takes your arm, clearly expecting you to say yes.]

[Haha doesn't seem to mind - in fact, he's pretty enamored by it. He makes a sound of glee and starts walking in large circles around them.]

Oh, that's good to hear! [She pauses, scrunching her face a little at the thought.] I just talked to her last week! Ugh, she's so overdramatic sometimes. I bet she'd do the same thing for Steve too if he weren't such a Momma's boy.

[And then there's another pause.] Hey! I'm not hiding! I just came out to get some air! [But she warms up a little bit, offering a smile. Like she'd really say no to him.] But hey, if you want to introduce me to your big-wig friends, I'm not gonna say no!
