Ollivander had already made tea and toast, and was getting the pan out for a nice fish fry-up when he came out to call Stan into the kitchen. "No, I've already got everything I need today, Stan. Pausing mid-step, Stan glanced over his shoulder back towards the kitchen. The old man’s tone sounded preoccupied, as if a lot was on his mind. Curious, Stan straightened his conductor’s cap and made his way to the back of the store. Like an expectant boy he dropped into his chair and gripped the edge of his seat, leaning forward slightly ( ... )

“Yea’, sho’ Ollivander.” Stan answer automatically as he finished his toast. It wasn’t until he’d nearly choked on it that he’d fully registered what the dear old man had said. “S’cuse me, wot?” He coughed out before downing some of his pumpkin juice.

He hadn’t even opened the box that held his wand since the first time he’d entered the shop. Ollivander’s talk with him gave him hope that with enough time he might again someday. But today was most definitely not that day. He hadn’t had nearly enough time.

“Mr. Ollivander, Sir. I-I-I don’ thin’ ‘m quite… ready… fo’ tha’…” He said after he’d resumed breathing normally.
