I was watching this guy singing songs; one of them was an a capella number encouraging the listener, in strident but positive tones, to get off the fence.

several seconds later, after musings along the lines of 'you make it sound so easy' and 'careful what you wish for', that same voice in my head (my own, that is) said "after the fence burns down ( Read more... )

we will all be on the same side, in a sense, once society collapses, which it will, no ifs, it is going to happen. Of course a new society will eventually grow to take its place, one more urban, less reliant on oil and oil products, more community based, less corporate based. Which is a good thing. But humans are humans, we'll find a way to erect new fences, no worries on that scale.
