Good lord, I need a job

I've spent the past two days pretty much watching every reality show ever shown on Bravo. Lots of Top Chef,Top Chef Masters, some art show, and god help me, Real Housewives of New Jersey and The Rachel Zoe Project. I just can't seem to back away from the crappy tv. And I'd love to go outside, take a walk, take one of the dogs for a walk, but with ( Read more... )

There's just something about unemployment that saps the soul, isn't there? And oh boy, I do not envy you your weather. The slightest bit of humidity and I'm no good for doing anything but lying around complaining about said humidity.

On the other hand, your story ideas sound amazing. Just the image of Snafu winding up poor innocent Babe and Spina is making me grin. Please tell me there's going to be a Speirs vs. Snafu showdown at some point - I'd love to see those guys trying to outcreep each other. One of those irresistable force meets immovable object situations.

Looking forward to this fanmix, too. I keep meaning to listen to more country and folk.

It really, really does sap the soul. And yeah, humidity, just sucks. There's nothing, NOTHING, good about it.

It's a huge clusterfuck of a verse, where, like, half is in the DC-Metro area and half is in Southern Louisiana, with Speirs being the glue between the two. Snafu and Roe go back to childhood, they're basically brothers, and Roe and Speirs have some shady CIA-esque history together, so there is quite a few bits of Speris vs Snafu trying to outcreep each other. But, yes, Sanfu's hobby is basically driving Babe and Spina to drink. Babe more so b/c he gets more flustered in the end.

I hope people enjoy it. It has some rock and pop, but it's mostly country and bluegrass.

Bravo is crack. I remember when it was all highbrow so that makes it worse.
When I go there now I willingly accept this and deal with it. Of all the Housewives NJ (I must admit I late night view pretty much all except Orange County) is the one where I watch almost with a dirty glee - I feel like I should look away but I can't turn away from the trainwreck >_>

Rehauled? Really? Hmm, you know we'll take even drafts, you know, to help you out for feedback purposes...

The fic will be a loooong time coming. I've been working on it since May and going back and forth on ideas and which fandoms would be in it and yeah. I'm pretty much going back to basics and realizing it's going to have to be a combo of large stories and small ficlets to work. Everything was going quite well until the combo of Snafu-Roe-Babe-Spina-Anna-Renee-Sledge-Sid-Burgie in small town Lousiana were all, "Come on, you know you want to write us more than the Pentagon crowd." Though I do miss writing the Webster-Leckie Conspiracy Theory Paper Writers of "The Grassy Knoll" having back-room informant meetings at Smokey Joe's Cafe, the resturant of one Smokey Gordon and one Joe Dominguez.

I love blue-grass for the banjos, mandolins and fiddles. Punch Brothers is almost extra special b/c it has Chris Thile in it, whose also in Nickel Creek and a musical prodigy on his own.
