I have just started watching Burn Notice. I am now addicted. Damn it, I did not need ANOTHER tv show to obsess over. Granted, I'm only three episodes in, but sarcasm, humor, action, SHARON GLESS, what's not to love. Yes, I start late on tv shows these days. I've had my tv-heart broken too many times these past few years, so I don't start watching ( Read more... )

Of the many channels I do not have, USA is also one of them. I was destined to be late on Burn Notice, but hey, at least I get to marathon two seasons for the next month or so. (Netflix doesn't have Season Three yet.)

Re: The Pacific, HBO is going to re-play it like mad, and it's only the first of 10 episodes tonight, so it's not like you'll be out of the loop or whatever. Right not you do not need seriously-intense WWII era movies (it's supposed to be more graphic and realistic than BoB) but, like, fluffy kittens and unicorns or something.

I know - my head is just not there. Even the ads were bumming me out.

Disney's The Princess and the Frog is what I'll be seeing next. I hear it's super good and my little sis keeps asking me if I want to go down to the "buy-uuu" (trying to sound Creole - it's so cute).

Yeah, reactions to it already seemed to be, "JFC, damn."

I am so eager to see The Princess and the Frog, I'm all waiting for the dvd, but just, okay, it's Disney. And it's Bayou country, and Creole and maybe some Cajun culture and LA and yeah, just so many things I love and have an interest in but mostly, it's DISNEY. Which means, I know I will cry sometime during the film (Up, omg, I've only cried that much during the start of a movie when it was Braveheart), but it's also Disney so it will go in my comfort-movie stack. Seriously, I have a whole dvd case of nothing but Disney films and I call it my No-Good-Very-Bad-Day-Case.

I am also loving it, but not loving the apparent lack of lj fandom love. :( Don't all the icon makers on lj know that I need Burn Notice icons stat?

I hate the lack of het fanfiction. I mean, I love slash as much as the next fangirl but jeez, not everyone is gay! I just want some Michael/Fiona fic!

Agreed. The slash is normal my place of default OTP-ing, but Michael and Fiona have a history! And chemistry! Come on, people.

didn't you know? it is ALWAYS better to start late when it comes to tv shows - this way you can always know if it's worth watching, 'cause if it's been on awhile, then they must be doing something right, right? i'm all into my animal cops shows now, and i'm not sure why, since they just depress me, and then tv shows about nature and parasites and lovely lovely nat geo and such....yeah, i need to watch some of the shows on my dvr since it's almost full. but i'm so lazy i just don't ever really feel like watching tv. although that's not true lately, but i'll probably get bored with my animal cops shows too....eventually.

how's life, btw? :)

well, i lied about it being good if it's been on for a while, since bones has been on for a while. good first two season, the rest went downhill. i always know who did it right from the beginning! sigh. it had such potential too...

I only watch Animal Planet and the like when I'm in NC, but the animal cop shows always end up making me really upset. I just, HOW do people do that to animals? Normally I am all for the true crime though, or stuff like Mythbusters on Discovery. Up here I am lucky enough to get the WGBH version of PBS, so it's always good tv watching.

I'm well. Enjoying my last few months in New England before the big heave-ho back to CLT. I'm trying not to stress out about it at the mo. How are you?
