There was a flash of red in the undergrowth, followed by a small wooshing noise.

Axel was dumping their latest victim - a pretty young girl, daughter of one of the millers - in the jungle. FOr a while now, they'd been intentionally leaving a few victims near Zikhadhara's temple, in case there were any investigations into the "cultists".

And lo, here was one now. Axel quickly pulled the hood up of his standard uniform - the one he'd arrived in, but repaired - and slid into the shadows, blending into the darkness of the dense forest, so that Yozak would not see him.

If things got worse he could always teleport away. Too bad Zexion wasn't here, else Axel would have no problem hiding at all.

Yozak couldn't see Axel at all despite looking almost straight at him - while Axel was up in a tree, Yozak being on top of the temple meant they were at pretty much the same eye-level. And as professional as Axel was at hiding - the magic helped, much as the the half-Mazoku would have loathed to admit it - Yozak also had about a hundred years of spying under his belt. There was one thing Axel couldn't disguise and that was the barely, almost imperceptible sound that came along with the teleportation.

And Yozak heard that.

So first he pressed himself even flatter to the top of the temple. Then he started crawling, looking this way and that for anyone that might follow him. If uninterrupted, he'd make it all the way to the dome above Zikhadhara's Den, trying to give himself a cover so he could stand up and look around better without worrying about his back.

That snap of the head in his direction was quite clear - Yozak had heard the sound of the teleportation. He held very still, holding his breath and hoping that his dark uniform enabled him to blend into the shadows, that he was completely invisible.

He simply needed to wait and see what the man on the roof of the temple would do. Too bad about the girl below him - but the point was for her to be discovered, right? The gaping wound in her abdomen, the neat slice in her diaphragm... it was meant to look gruesome.

Axel bit his lip in anticipation, fingers twitching in readiness to snap a portal open and flee.

Yozak got all the way to the dome and made his way around the direction that shielded himself from Axel's view
