He knew Remus didn’t approve, but that didn’t stop Sirius from sneaking out that evening to go out on his little drinking expedition with Beth. He owed her a drink, and he was going to deliver. Sirius was never one to go back on his word, especially if it involved a female. He wasn’t one to go around crushing girls hopes.
Journal and a bottle of butterbeer(like he’d promised) in a bag hanging from his shoulder, Sirius made his way to the bar. He was just on time, and strolled in to the bar and glanced around quietly. He had a minor limp to his leg from an injury that was still healing without the aid of magic. But it obviously wasn’t that bad if he was out and about at the moment.
He could only vaguely remember what Beth looked like, so he left it up to her to find him. She’d probably have a better memory than he did, and she’d probably know what he looked like anyways if he was just a man from a set of books in her world that she’d read.
Beth had entered the bar just a few minutes after Sirius, her green eyes scanning the tables until she spotted her favorite person. Grinning, she stalked over to where he was stationed, noting how he was leaning more on one leg then the other. That must have been where he had gotten attacked. Though she never knew exactly what had attacked him.
She had acquired a hair tie, finding one in her jacket pocket, and had pulled her hair up out of her face, and ontop of her head in a slightly messy bun. It wasn't like it was a romantic date or anything, they were just going out for drinks.
Pulling herself next to him, she smiled sweetly to him. "Sirius? I'm Beth." She said introductory, still amazed at how she was face to face with yet another fictional character.
Sirius turned his head when he heard her, a grin spreading across his face. He was obviously pleased to see her in person, finally. Even if she was the one who had told him what his future would be, he remembered, with a pang of sadness before he shoved it aside. Wasn’t the time for that, of course.
“Ah, nice to finally meet you, Beth,” He said, scratching the back of his neck. “Shall we go take a seat?” He suggested. Better than standing around, which made his leg sore. He was curious what these muggle drinks tasted like. Everyone always said they were weaker than the alcohol in the wizarding world. He was about to find out for himself, though.
She was a little amazed with that huge grin that came across his face, but she just kept her smile in place and nodded to his question. "It's nice to finally meet you too." She slipped her hand into her pocket, feeling her phone; just a safety concern. She was just a little paranoid, she'd have to admit.
"But yeah. There is a table over..." She paused as she looked around, spotting one just a little bit away from where they were standing. "There. And how are you? I never really figured out what got injured." She inquired softly, starting to walk towards the empty table.
When Beth pointed to a table, Sirius led the way to it and, the gentleman he was, he pulled out a chair for her before he actually sat down himself. He looked across the table at her, contemplating whether or not he should tell her what had actually happened to him to get him so injured.
Even if she knew about Moony's furry little problem, it was probably better to keep it all under wraps and be vague. He couldn't have anything he said being sprouted off somewhere. "Ah, just a run in with a creature in the jungle who didn't seem to take too kindly too me. I got a bit too egotistical in my animal-catching abilities after James and I caught Madeline." Their flying snake. Hot pink, he may have added.
Beth smiled up at him when he pulled her chair out, offering him a "thank you," as she sat down in it. She wasn't completely sure if he was telling the whole story, but she didn't want to be playing twenty questions with him. It wasn't like she was going to give Hiruma some blackmail against Sirius.
But the name 'Madeline' caught her off guard. "Madeline? Who is that?" She asked curiously, pushing her flyaway hair out of her face. She would have never thought Madeline was a hot pink colored snake, but who would?
