Sometimes I have to let people I care about make their own mistakes

Sometimes it's really hard not to say anything when I see them making those mistakes. Aargh.

And thus I vent quietly to the whole internet.

it's all about me me me

Not to give unsolicited advice (but, hell, apparently I'm on a roll tonight ... )

The hardest part about loving someone is allowing them to make their own mistakes. And to learn from those mistakes. Because, really ... how do we grow? By learning ...

Yes, it IS painful and emotionally wrenching to see those that we love and care about making a mistake, but that's really the only way they can learn and come into the person they are supposed to be.

/unwanted "blah blah blah" advice

(And on a completely unrelated note, I'm SO jealous that you were at Lark! Darnit! Next year, I hope ...

Totally not unsolicited advice, actually, you really just articulated more of what I was thinking about when I posted. Unfortunately, I don't think the circumstances will end up in personal growth, which is a shame-- I'm pretty sure the end result won't have any positive outcome. The fact that I really need to not meddle, no matter how much I desperately want to, is killing me! Sure is hard, when my outside perspective is allowing me to see some stuff the people more directly involved are blind to right now.
