Baking fail and bettas

I just made this cake: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/whole-orange-cake for the second time. The first time, oranges were not in season and the ones I used were not very juicy. The cake was ok. This time, the oranges were better, but the cake has a definite bitter

The whole fruit?? Even the peel? Huh, I didn't realize you could do that. Shows what I know about baking! ;) Peach cake sounds amazing!

If I ever try with oranges again, no peels! The peach cake is heavenly!
