realxforce It’s early, and he’s surprised he’s even awake. Julio isn’t one for moving at this hour of the day, and he probably would be tucked in his bed all passed out if the situation was different. However, Julio had stayed up all night with Roberto watching Magnum reruns, and he has yet to go to sleep. It wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but Cable and Domino had gone missing for the past few days, so they don’t have any training to partake in until their leaders return.
Julio rubs his eyes as he walks. His head is pounding and all he can hear in his head are lines from that stupid show. He hates when Roberto can convince him to do shit like this, and he just wishes for once Sam would play the role of a best friend. Julio was a second choice, and if Sam wasn’t staying in Tabitha's room all the time, Rictor would have slept last night.
He blinks, walking into his bedroom. The sun is barely poking into the room, and he notices Star wasn’t in there. His eyes widen and he rushes down the hallway. He knows he doesn’t have to panic, but he still worries for his friend. Love makes you paranoid even when you don't have to be.
He rolls his eyes at that thought.
Rictor steps outside, the morning grass wet against his socks. He sighs, tearing them off and tossing them away. He continues to walk around, feeling dew paint his feet. He smiles a little at the experience, but keeps on going. He has someone to find, and then he can actually go to sleep.
He stops in his tracks when he finally finds Shatterstar. The alien is stretching out, somehow keeping his balance on all but two fingers. Julio doesn’t move, watching the perfection of the stretch. Star isn’t budging, and his orange hair is spilling down towards the ground. Slowly, but swiftly, he turns and lets his other hand do the balancing. Rictor nearly sways as he watches this. The sunrise is hitting the warrior, and it’s almost as if he’s made of gold. There’s not a flaw, not a single imperfection about how this looks.
It’s worth it being up this early.
It doesn’t take Star long to notice him, as he has his senses and his warrior reflexes to aid him. He gets to his feet, and approaches Julio at once. Silver eyes look over him, and Julio just swallows. Star’s in nothing but a pair of shorts, and all Julio has on is boxers with a tee shirt.
It's a little perfect.
“What are you doing up?” Star asks, reaching out to touch Julio’s face. The Mexican almost melts into the contact, but he remains in control.
“Never went to sleep. I was watching TV with ‘Berto. I know I said I'd sleep with you---but he made me stay.” Julio explains, and this makes Star roll his eyes. There’s probably a million things he has in his head about how Julio must be rested to be ready for battle, but it’s also television, and Julio knows Star has stayed up all night watching it before. “Was gonna go to bed--but you weren’t there.”
“And I went to sleep without you.” Star nods. Julio almost feels guilty for that, but he smiles crookedly instead. “You know I do not waste my day away by laying in bed. As a warrior born, I--”
Julio slaps his hand against Star’s mouth. “Yeah, yeah, I know. Skill training and all that. I’ve heard your biography, Star. You announce it pretty much everyday when someone suggests you do something normal. Even if it's just sleeping in.”
Star rolls his eyes again, and Julio pulls back his hand. It moves down to Star’s, and they lace together. He raises them both up, and kisses Star’s flesh.
“What are you doing?”
“You look nice.” Julio mutters, his lips moving forward to meet the warrior’s. The touch deepens, and seems to be brightened by rising sunlight. Hands unhook, and start roaming over skin. All tired feelings Julio held simply melt away as more kisses occur, and Shatterstar does not appear bothered by morning exercises being interrupted.
Julio pulls away, and he continues to look at Star. The sun beams down on them both, but it’s like Star’s glowing. His hair is highlighted, and pale skin seems to illuminate. He’s beautiful, and Julio wants to collapse at what’s in front of him.
“You’re beautiful, Julio.” Star mutters before placing his lips back against the Mexican’s skin. Julio wonders how Star can even suggest such things. Compared to the alien, Julio is nothing but a simple human. He’s like everyone else; he’s average. Run of the mill Mexican guy, that's it.
Shatterstar’s almost a god.
Julio lets his face flush red, and he grins. “Wana go to our room? Or is it a waste of day for a warrior born such as yourself.”
“Julio.” Star scolds.
“I wouldn’t want to you to be dishonourable or anything.” he continues, and Star just glares. “I’m just thinking of you, Star.”
“You are mocking me.”
“No..!”
Star rolls his eyes. “I do not know why I put up with you. Come on.”
Julio smirks, and he knows that he’s gotten his way. He’s still a little tired, but he doesn’t regret staying up all night anymore. He got to see something wonderful by chance, and it’s enough to make him get up early tomorrow.
Well---it’s almost enough. Tomorrow morning, he knows he’ll be sleeping in.
